According to the fifth edition of retirement places rated, Lake Winnipesaukee, NH was rated "The #1 retirement place" in the country under the category "Leisure living for recreational and cultural opportunities". Additionally in March 2007 NH was named the "Most Livable State in the Nation" for the fourth straight year by Morgan Quinto Corp of Kansas.

The resources at our disposal in New Hampshire's Lakes Region are unparalleled. The Local Chamber of Commerces offer websites with excellent area information: Laconia/Weirs Chamber of Commerce, Meredith/Moultonborough Chamber of Commerce, Squam Lake Chamber of Commerce, Wolfeboro Chamber of Commerce, and the Waterville Valley Chamber of Commerce. Additionally the Belknap County Economic Development Council offers tremendous details on the entire county and wonderful statistical information on the Lakes Region.

The marketing arm for the entire Lakes Region is the Lakes Region Association which publishes several guide books and offers hundreds of links pertaining to Lake Winnipesaukee and the Lakes Region. One of the most visited websites in the Lakes Region is Winnipesaukee.com. This site hosts a wealth of information on the region including interesting web cams to view, regional photography, a large classifieds section and interesting blogs with an up to date list of current events to participate in. Winnipesaukee.net is also a valuable resource. Another interesting site is nhliving.com with lots of pertininent information for the Lakes Regions.

The Lakes Region Planning Commision is an excellent resourse site to visit pertaining to the growth of the region. Many clients of ours inquire about the many lakes in our region and we have provided complete demographics of the major lakes on our website. Additionally as a resource you can use the New Hampshire Fish and Game lake and pond depth maps. Bizter lake levels provide accurate mapped information on the various lakes in the region.

For statewide information you may visit nh.gov - New Hampshire's official information resource site. You may also refer to the Secretary of State Offices. For up to date information New Hampshire's Shoreland protection act visit NH Shorefront Association or the NH Department of Environmental Services. The New Hampshire Department of Resources in Economic Development publishes a most informative website (visitnh.gov) with up to the minute economic and statistical data.
